NEXT STEPS
What does it mean to follow Christ?
It means to follow the teachings of Jesus and live like Him. It means to yield our lives to His plan and follow His purposes for us. If you would like to commit your life to Jesus today, go ahead and pray this prayer:
“Jesus, I ask you to come into my life. I want to turn from sin and living life my own way. Come now and live your life in me. Forgive me and cleanse me from my sins. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. I will live for you and serve you all the days of my life. I commit my life to you. Amen.”
Now that you have committed your life to Jesus, here are some important next steps to take:
1. Read the Bible
The Bible is the main way we get to know about God. It’s also the main way God has chosen to tell us about ourselves – who we are, His promises to us, and how we are to live. The Bible is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. It’s God’s Word written specifically to guide us through life. 2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. (NLT)
2. Pray
Prayer is simply talking to your Heavenly Father. It is one of the main ways we cultivate a relationship with Him. There is nothing more powerful than asking God for his help. We can talk to Him anywhere, anytime – even in the midst of our daily activities.

Philippians 4:6 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (NLT)
3. Connect
Life is better together. When we interact with other followers of Christ we find support and encouragement to continue in our faith. When we connect with a good Bible-believing church and fellowship with other believers, it helps us to grow spiritually.
Acts 2:42 – All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. (NLT)
4. Give
When we give of our time, talents, or financial gifts, we give God the chance to prove His faithfulness in our lives.
Malachi 3:10 – Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! (NLT)
5. Share
When you experience something as good as God’s love, you want to share it with the people in your life! Talk about how God has changed your life, build relationships, and invite someone to come to church with you.

Matthew 28:19 – Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (NLT)
